AI Is a Tool, Not a Strategy
Every second pitch deck treats AI as the plan. It isn't. The businesses quietly winning are starting with the problem, the customer and the outcome, then reaching for the tool that fits.

AISTRATEGY
Am I the only one willing to say this out loud?
AI is a tool. Not a strategy. Not a vision. Not a business model. A tool.
And yet every second pitch deck, keynote and LinkedIn post right now treats it like AI is the plan.
It's not.
A hammer doesn't build a house
A blueprint does.
AI doesn't grow your business. Strategy does. Execution does. People do.
We've been here before
The internet was going to replace everything. The cloud was going to replace everything. Apps were going to replace everything.
They didn't replace anything. They became infrastructure.
AI will too.
What the quiet winners ask
The businesses quietly winning right now aren't the ones shouting "AI first." They're the ones asking:
- What problem am I actually solving?
- Who does this serve?
- How does this make my business stronger, not just faster?
And then reaching for the tool that fits.
Strategy first
So I'll keep saying it, even if it's unpopular in a room full of AI evangelists:
- Strategy first.
- Customer first.
- Business outcomes first.
AI earns its seat at the table. It doesn't own it.
Am I alone on this, or are more of you thinking it but not saying it?
